| I am thinking about going to Niagara Falls with my 4 yr. old. Is it worth it for that age group? What activities are good? Any ideas on where to stay on the Canadian side? Thanks. |

I'm not too sure how comfortable I would be with taking a 4 year old on some of the Niagara Falls attractions (the ones that get close to the water, not necessarily Behind the Falls but some of the other ones. ) but Clifton Hill would be so much fun for your son! Plus, there are other attractions away from the Falls he could enjoy.
If you want to get up close and personal with the Falls, then I'd wait until he's a little older. If you don't necessarily need to get close with the falls, then 4 can be a fun age to go. In case you haven't seen these websites: www.niagarafallslive.com www.niagarafallstourism.com |

I have not taken a small child to the Falls, but I went to College near there and have been many times. I can't imagine why it would be difficult to take a child on the Maid of the Mist or to just generally walk around. I guess he could get freaked out, but it's a relatively short period of time to deal with. I haven't taken the walking tour, but that may be more difficult. Niagara Falls is beautiful, but be advised that the town surrounding is not as nice. The US side is kind of residential and the Canada side is pretty sleezy but a kid that age may like the Ripley's Believe it or Not, although I don't really know if it's still open there now.
Niagara on the Lake is beautiful and well worth a visit. It's not right near there, but not a bad drive. Toronto is also very nice and isn't far either. You can do a lot of things in that area outside of Niagara Falls that would make the trip great. Buffalo also has some nice things to see and some really good restaurants. It's really nice there in the spring and a very inexpensive flight to then drive on into Canada. |
