Discussion there is the team results dont matter as much for a player to get recruited and coaches are attending games to see players they are interested in regardless of how good the team is including non-champions league tournaments. And that the end game is college recruitment.
So if that is true then why did Brave and Union voluntarily combine the girls programs when ECNL only made them do the boys? More girls teams would mean more loplayers in ECNL and getting college looks.
I do not know why they did it if they had a choice. If someone does please say. They did not do it for the game or for any noble notions of one less team is better for all. Everyone made money on both sides. So why? It could be as simple as combining the boys and leaving girls apart was too expensive. It also could have been that Brave wanted both because they were in danger of losing girls soon.
Was it really a choice? I still am not sure. I had heard that it was not a real choice. Meaning not forced by strongly urged by ECNL.
