They have no interest in Gaza and that's why they are marketing beachfront properties there and dreaming about "resettling it"?

Amazing how they consider Palestinian kids adults.

Ruqaya Ahmad Odeh Jahalin, four, was shot in the back by Israeli forces around 5:30 p.m. on January 7 while sitting in the backseat of a shared taxi van near an Israeli military checkpoint near the Palestinian village of Beit Iksa, northwest of Jerusalem in the central occupied West Bank, according to documentation collected by Defense for Children International - Palestine. After Ruqaya and her mother drove through the checkpoint, a car driving about 40 meters (131 feet) behind them did not stop for inspection by Israeli forces. Israeli forces opened fire on both vehicles, striking Ruqaya in the back. An Israeli military ambulance transported Ruqaya and her mother to the checkpoint, where Ruqaya’s father met them. Israeli forces interrogated Ruqaya’s father before allowing him to leave without releasing Ruqaya’s body.

Why are Palestinians trying to crash military checkpoints? And aren't people aware that bullets are messy things, they can bounce, they can penetrate through one object and continue travel to another, and so on. Attempting to ram your way through a military checkpoint puts everyone at risk. It would be sheer insanity to assume nobody would get hurt from such an act.

The four year old? Didn’t crash a military checkpoint. The driver of her vehicle? Didn’t crash a military checkpoint.

The IDF killed a child for the crime of being Palestinian. And you defended it. Two fascinating levels of dehumanization on display.

A lunatic next to them did tried to crash the military checkpoint, and that person is who put the child in that risk. And again, you seem completely oblivious to realities as they unfold on the ground. You seem incredibly naive about the world.

Do you realize you make no sense. The person whose finger is in the trigger is the one who kills.

Technically, of course.

Morally and legally? It depends. Felony murder doctrine, for example.

Felony murder doctrine in this case would implicate the IDF. They were already engaged in an occupation deemed illegal https://www.ohchr.org/sites/default/files/documents/hrbodies/hrcouncil/coiopt/2022-10-19/Report-COI-OPT-14Sept2022-EN.pdf when they shot a child who had, incidentally, not committed any crime.

Not your kid. Why should you care. Just some street dog. Ignore.

Video shows they were unarmed when the Israeli army opened fire on the group of young men standing on a street. The teenager went to help the man who was shot and then he was shot as well.

The video then shows Israeli troops approach the bodies and then leave without offering any assistance.

This happens every single day. Every day they kill innocent Palestinians in the West Bank. It's deplorable.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/video-appears-show-israeli-army-052253689.html

I am always amused by the Western media that goes out, out, out of their way to refrain from calling Palestinian children "children."

A 4-year old is a "young lady".

Teenagers released from Israeli prisons are "males who are minors." Not boys. Not children. Not kids. Males who are minors.

Meanwhile, 20-year olds shot at Nova music festivals are unanimously "kids". Even if currently serving in IDF. Still kids.

Hunter Biden is still a kid.
Don’t forget.

Why is this thread about a nation built as a strategic crossroad specifically to launder the entire planet’s money even relevant to anyone?
It’s not like anyone cares. It’s just some blood. We can raze ALL of Palestine and seriously NO ONE will care.

I wouldn’t say they have zero interest. They weren’t saying that two months ago with the annex Gaza, West Bank, and Lebanon maps and plans to destroy any and all tunnels in Gaza. They just overestimated how easy it would be to do a ground offensive in Gaza. It has actually been quite challenging for the IDF to kill Hamas or find their stockpiles and command centers . A few Israeli Hostages were running up to the IDF in the street upon recognizing the Israeli uniform and getting shot down. The other day 9 IDF died from their own error of a tunnel explosive let out at the wrong time.

There have been too many clumsy rookie mistakes on the part of the IDF which makes sense since many of them are rookies and never fought a war before. This isn’t the battle tested Israel of the 60s and 70. It’s the Starbucks latte bro generation and unfortunately Hamas and Hezbollah are more battle tested due to Syria . US intelligence even said it.

This was Netanyahus way of waving a white flag halfway up and saying The status quo will remain in the Gaza Strip and they will just continue the war as usual- killing people and trying to tactically target as much Hamas and Hezbollah as they can .

Even if you believe that what’s occurring in the Middle East is immoral and unjust, it’s difficult to agree with these tactics. Indiscriminately creating inconvenience of this kind isn’t likely to create awareness of Israel’s atrocities that will lead to advancing the cause.

As a left-leaning moderate, I have been revolted by the ignorance and abominable behavior of the pro-Palestinian far left.

Has made me LESS sympathetic to the Palestinian cause for sure.

Bingo.

Is that what you say when Israel drops bombs on hospitals and refugee camps?

What do you say, PP, when Hamas builds its military command center right under a hospital to use the patients and doctors as human shields? Please explain how the IDF should proceed.

And the last hospital I remember being bombed in Gaza was “bombed” by a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket.

How many Palestinians do you claim Palestinian Islamic Jihad killed in that one? 400? 500?

IDF had nothing to do with that; you did.

It was only “500 victims” when Hamas (and CNN) were trying to blame it on the IDF.

The IDF used something called an aerosol bomb or thermobaric weapon on the hospital. This is well known in intelligence circles but Biden announced it was the Palestinian based on a presentation the Israelis did. Biden also made a joke about the 500 death civilians. Many in the US intelligence are pretty upset with Biden and the politicians lying about this.

The Israelis have many of these weapon of various scales. These weapons do not leave a crater or other debris but a devastating against civilians. A rocket missing firing leave a lot of debris. All the evidence and there is a lot points to the Israelis.

That's an absolute lie. It was a Hamas rocket that malfunctioned. Video from multiple angles proves it. And it did not kill anywhere near 500 people. That was also a lie. Stop peddling lies.

You stop. You are tiresome. It was an aerosol bomb dropped by the IDF. The IDF has targeted every hospital/healthcare facility in Gaza. It’s over 375 individual healthcare facilities targeted and bombed as of a month ago. It is part of the planned systematic destruction of the civilian infrastructure to terrorize the population.

Show the debris from the “malfunctioned” rocket. Hamas rockets leave a lot of parts and debris. When a rocket malfunctions the warhead does not explode.

The only bomb that does not leave a crater or debris is a thermobaric bomb. The Israelis have a lot of them and have used them liberally. Also the sound and visional tracking show the strike came from Israel. The false “Hamas” radio call is spliced and totally amateurish. The area where the IDF says the rocket came from had no Hamas activity. Finally look at the video of the strike. It is a cloud of aerosol that ignites.

This is very typical of the IDf. They will own up to it soon. They alway do this.

Um no. That was an Islamic Jihad rocket that malfunctioned. Multiple videos. And nowhere close to 500 people died. A few in a parking lot. Because Hamas and Islamic Jihad are incompetent idiots.

“Leaving aside the legal implications of his behavior, Biden’s name – and America’s name – will be forever associated with what is likely to become one of the textbook cases of attempted genocide,” Mearsheimer wrote.

So dramatic.

Let's be honest: what's currently happening is likely to be inconsequential in the larger picture of international affairs.

It will probably not be a genocide. It will probably not lead to a wider regional conflict (unless Hezbollah decides to give it a go). It will probably not lead to any resolution between Palestinians and Israel.

Just another nasty flare up of the idiocy that has prevailed in the region since 1947.

Yes. In the big scheme of things, it is inconsequential. Clearly, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the government of Lebanon want nothing to do with this conflict. This isn't 1967.

The wild cards are Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen, who keep shooting missiles at Red Sea shipping, which strongly affects Egypt since it is reducing traffic through the Suez Canal. But both Hezbollah and the Houthis are proxies for Shi'a Iran - so, not much popular support in the region for them.

Both in the US and Europe, the pro-Palestinian protestors and the vitriol you see on TikTok and sites like this have turned people away from supporting "From the river to the sea." There is no global popular support for the Palestinians after the massacres on 10/7.

Hamas and their Iranian allies started this war. And they are discovering there is no regional support for it. The streets in Amman and Cairo and Riyadh and Damascus are very quiet. Much more quiet than Manhattan. And all the regional actors are being very responsible, including the US. Absolutely no one wants a regional war over Gaza.

The cost of this mistake will be borne by the children in Gaza. Presently, Hamas is stealing most aid that gets through. Hopefully, as they get weaker, that changes. It's sad. It's tragic. But in the big scheme of things, it's part of the continuum from 1947. It changes nothing. Except Gaza is in ruins now.

This isn’t a compelling argument. Of course the Arab streets of Amman, Cairo, Riyadh, Damascus are quieter than Manhattan because their governments aren’t the ones funding the war with taxpayer money.

No. The video clearly shows it is a thermobaric bomb. The video shows the cloud of aerosol igniting. Rockets malfunctioning or not do not do what was shown in the video. The acoustic tracking shows it was fired from Israel. Just because you think it is funny or cute to say it was a “Hamas” rocket does not make it so.

You need to drop your propaganda and an except the facts.

What do you mean by Israel of all countries? What is happening in Gaza is horrible.

Did you know that on average 10 children lose a limb in Gaza each day? With many of these amputations occurring without anesthesia.

Or that over 2 million people, over 90% of the population, are in stage 3 of food insecurity with ~400,000 people in the highest catastrophic stage of famine? Israeli officials are openly calling for ethnic cleansing and openly say that there are no innocent people in Gaza.

The ICJ proceedings are online. I think they are worth a watch.

Israel is doing incalculable damage to America’s global standing.
