SJC has some real talent at 2028. What are they doing about a coach? Anyone know any info?

Yellow Jackets LI ends season at no 1 after beating what looks like some weak competition. Some sore Hero’s parents out there.

It makes zero sense how Yellow Jackets LI moved up to number one. Makes the rankings lose all credibility.

How does US Club Lax compute its rankings?

Like Laxpower’s and Laxnumber’s power rating algorithm, US Club Lax’s ratings are mathematically computed based on game results in the system with no subjective weighting or human input. All games count equally over the course of a season. Using only game results, US Club Lax's algorithm computes an overall average performance rating for teams based on how teams perform against other teams and the strength of a team’s opponents. A team's overall rating then determines a team's ranking position based on the national, regional, state, and/or sub-state ranking categories a team is placed in. A team's overall rating is typically not reflective of the team's best or worst games, but a mathematically computed average performance rating that translates game results into a numeric representation of a team’s performance.

Hero’s was number 1 on the 19th then fell to number 2 a day later. YJ lost to mass elite late in the season. YJ also didn’t play a spring season of games so their schedule is somewhat questionable.

LI plays in the Spring PAL league, which not club based. It’s town/area based. Not USA lax affiliated so it doesn’t show up anywhere. They also place more emphasis on the middle and high school seasons. It’s been that way for decades.

Seriously. Both teams will be fine. Get mad at the algorithm and computer that calculated the rankings.

This is the problem the national championship tournament was trying to solve for but it didn’t work around all the other tournaments.

Its not a big problem, its all for banter. Nobody gives a crap about who won NGLL in 5th 6th 7th grade.

The problem is there are too many tournaments and the pettiness between tourney organizers. For the kids, Steps, Thinklax and Robinson need to reign in the number of tournaments and get to a National championship. May never happen but the continued number of tournaments is watering down the game. There are tournaments after most team tryouts now which is making things worse as well.

I think the ratings do a pretty good job. Data guy would probably agree that they are a very good predictor of how close a game would be between two teams.

I'd rather see an actual HS national championship v. a club national championship.
