Dryer repair -- did I get ripped off and what to do?

Anonymous
My dryer was making a loud squeaking noise -- still functional, just a lot of squeak. Called a recommended repair and they replaced the "blanket" in front as well as part of the kit. It cost $229. It actually left somewhat of a loud sound. Not a squeak, but more whooshing than there used to be. Well, today, three days after repair, it has stopped spinning. Thoughts?

Hard to say, but the place that did the "repair," should come back out free of charge since they did not fix the problem. Call them and give them an opportunity to address it.

I am having the same problem with my dryer (a lot of squeak) and was contemplating a repair vs. buying a new one. They should definitely come out and fix free of charge.

If it is an old style, its probably the bearings and you can order them online and youtube how. We did ours.
