Ants everywhere in our dc rowhouse!

Is it just the time of year or something wrong? I just had two crawl on me in my living room, on couch and floor. I am so disgusted. What can I do? We have kids so I don't want to spray. They are the tiny ones that usually appear in kitchen

terro ant traps..work great

Raid ant gel is also good -- you can use it in places the kids and pets can't reach. I saw that they were coming in through the kitchen window and ran a strip of the gel along the sill, they disappeared.

+1. Terro ant traps are the best

Spray vinegar on their trails - makes them lose the scent.

We had them too. Used terro but they came back. Terminex found a paper thin crack in the tile in the bathroom.

Terro traps work, but you have to have them out at all times. For the rest of your days.

I make a homemade ant killed with borax, sugar and water. It attracts a lot of them while they grab the stuff but one they take it back to the nest it kills everyone. Fantastic stuff.

Figure out where they're coming in and caulk it.

Advion orange bait traps by DuPont. They WORK.

Borax works really well but not a good idea if you have crawling babies or pets who will get into it.

Sometimes I mix some jelly in a lid with some borax. Kills the ants when they bring it back to their friends and family.

I sprinkle sugar and borax on window sills and that works well too

I second the previous suggestion to use sugar, borax and water. Make a solution out of the three then soak some paper towel squares and put them in various places around your house. Can't remember the exact ratio, but look around online to find some possibilities - it needs to have enough sugar to attract them, and enough borax to kill them without making them avoid it. As noted, they take it back and kill the whole lot. Always works for us once we get the right ratio of sugar to borax.

Another vote for Terro. We had a real problem, and it was over within days of putting out one trap just outside the door they were using to get inside. I have several more traps in the pack I bought, so I plan to just put out another one if they become a problem again.
