I just got a jury summons. I would love to serve, but at the same time dread doing t. I pee all the time, at least every 30 minutes or so when I am awake. Doctor says it's an enlarged prostate and not much they can do if medications aren't working. Well every medication I have tried does not work. The whole peeing situation is incredibly embarrassing, but at least my coworkers are cool.
Will the courts accommodate this situation? Or is it best to get a medical waiver from jury duty. |
Medical waiver |
Get a medical waiver. Maybe call the number on your summons for more info |
Tell the judge. I am a trial attorney and have a similar problem. I get accommodated. Now, as a juror, I would probably strike you because it would distract you. |
If there's no medical waiver process in the general jury screening room (before you get into the courtroom), then when the judge asks if anyone has a hardship, ask to speak to him privately at the bench. You'll get excused--no judge is going to call a break every 30 minutes. |
I'm a trial lawyer and it would be pretty disruptive to have to break every 30 minutes or hour. You will be dismissed. |
Thnks everyone. My PCP is giving me a waiver |
