No there is no ring! I know that most of the posters voted for me to leave . I am giving him 1 year to improve his situation. And I mean any improvement. Working at Home Depot is better than being jobless. I am from a culture that doesn't believe in just leaving someone because they aren't perfect. I won't waste my life if he doesn't improve, but I definitely will not give up on him yet.

No ring means no engagement. He's your boyfriend, not your fiance. Please stop referring to him that way.

I imagine that there is more than one engagement custom. But, let's not replay the earlier thread here. We have the answer about the ring and call all sleep soundly tonight. So, I"m going to lock this thread now.
