Any feedback. Had one contractor tell me he didn't think it was as good as the old line. |
I was underwhelmed with the choices. I went with Lowe's instead. If you go with the Diamond line of cabinets, the prices are comparable to Ikea and there are a ton of door options. You can even get something that looks like Ikea if you'd like. The quality is at least as good as Ikea, probably better. |
I have it, it looks great and works well. but the handles are not nice. I regret them but can live with it for now.
I upgraded to a fancy counter top. |
I was so excited about it. Went to the store. Was soooo disappointed in thr selection. Like another poster went to Lowe's and bought something else. In hindsight, I spent about 20% more on special order and got double the quality.
Too bad...I liked the old line. Don't waste your time. |
The issue is that it's not a significant change from the old line. Quality is exactly the same- that is, exceptional quality at a price point that can't be beat. However, for whatever reason IKEA didn't change their cabinet door selections at all, so it's like s time warp to 2006. And to the extent you don't want modern, the cabinets just don't look that great. But inserts and quality are so much better than the more expensive stuff at lowes and hd. That said, if you go the IKEA direction, you definitely want to buy handles from elsewhere. We got ceasarstone countertops there and it was good. I would do appliances, faucet etc.
For context, we did an ikea kitchen in a Reno 3 years ago on a $900 home. We're about to do another on a $1.3 home because it worked well for us the first time. |
Horrendous. |
What does this mean |

This is amazing! I absolutely HATE ikea doors, the selection is junk and as are the materials. Such a great idea just using their frames! |
