I am on lexapro (15mg) for depression and anxiety. It's helping, but I still feel tired all the time even after 8+ hours of sleep. I was diagnosed with anemia several years ago before becoming depressed and anxious, took iron pills, then just kind of stopped and haven't used them since at least a year before starting lexapro.
So, is it ok to take the two together? |
| I would not take iron pills (beyond what is in a multivitamin or, stretching it, prenatal vitamins, which have higher iron) without consulting a doctor. This is not an easy supplement to take as there can be side effects and there is a risk of iron overload. Please consult with your PCP before doing this. I don't think taking it with Lexapro changes this much. |
| They're just ones I bought at Target. |

I take both.
Still would check with doc too see if you're still anemic. |
| I'd get a CBC done to check iron and other levels, but yes, if you need iron supplements, it's fine to take both medicatiosn. |
I agree with this. Get a simple blood test before starting iron pills. "just from Target" has nothing to do with it. -- poster who was anemic for years |
| Yes, it’s fine. My daughter takes them both and is under supervision from numerous doctors |
| It's not contraindicated, but it's possible the Lexapro is the culprit for your tiredness. You should get your CBC checked at the doctor. |
