Which items have you found to be better priced at Wegmans?
Toiletries
The Wegmans brand items, bulk foods section for nuts, spices, etc., and things sold as a "family pack". I don't find a lot of the non Wegmans brand stuff to be cheaper (though it's sometimes equally priced to other places, so fine to purchase at Wegmans), but a lot of the Wegmans brand items are very good and definitely cheaper - like organic milk, bagged salad/spinach (always 2/$5), hummus, marinara sauce. Things I will make a special trip to Wegmans for include the Grandma's marinara sauce, storage bags (ziplock-like of all sizes) and foil, plastic wrap, etc., and baking/cooking supplies in the bulk foods section. I also pick up other Wegmans brand basics when I'm there - pasta, shredded cheese, chips, cereal, greek yogurt, etc. Their produce is very good, but not cheaper IMO.
Not much. Honestly, I love Wegmans but price wise I don't find them that much cheaper than Giant, Safeway or Harris Teeter. All of those have sales often enough that it doesn't warrant a trip to Wegmans for cheaper groceries. I like Wegmans for stuff I can't get at those 3 stores.

These is mostly in comparison to Costco, but I'm sure to buy the following at Wegman's
Frozen Tilapia Shrimp Sometimes wild salmon Pork Shoulder Bacon (Wegman's brand, family pack) Generally speaking, their store brand is good quality, and family pack sized items are definitely cheaper than elsewhere. |
