I would almost go so far as to say this year STARS and STARS/SSSAS girls were at a disadvantage. There were many surprises and disappointments. The culture of this particular group is that the girls are sold the dream of making Capital from the time they are in 3rd grade. That is why it is especially difficult and heartbreaking when they don't make it. I know of some girls from other teams who just hear of Capital and decide to try out. It doesn't have the same meaning to them.

What is clear is that there is demand and enough talent for more high school club programs in the DMV.

I feel for the kids and parents in that situation. The history of girls from Stars making it sounds like it's a decent chance, but not a guarantee. Does the head coach there just do a really good job of overselling the possibility? That's also a weird culture, to prep girls to leave a team. Is there no aspiration for Stars to have a HS team?

Again with the “prep girls to leave a team” ….. those teams only started going to high school recently. Capital was there first.

I do and he’s the real deal. Solid as F with a huge heart. Hatred towards him and a team he put together for sticktime for the girls and to raise a few bucks for charity is beyond insane to me.

A lot of butt hurt that some girls weren’t asked to join is all I can think of.

I just don’t get the hatred.

So where did 28s that did not make Capital Blue or Orange go? Did some turn down Orange and go to MD teams like the 27s?
