Good game for PVI or bad game for Visi?

PVI played a slow down game which helped them stay in it. Visi reliant entirely on the sisters. Not much depth.

PVI lost a lot to graduation so this result is surprising. But PVI coach is a good coach so while they may not have as much talent overall, they can game plan.

SJC 10-4 over PVI today.

Interesting result.

PVI was expected to be strong, and was ranked ahead of SJC by a prior poster. Visi appears to be very well-regarded this year on this thread and elsewhere, and beat PVI only in OT. SJC was criticized for a page or two not so far back, and has had three consecutive strong wins since, two against upper-tier competition (SSAS and PVI). Those were the factors I deemed to be interesting in the news of the 10-4 win today.

PVI was not expected to be strong given all they lost about half of their starters to graduation. Most within WCAC have them 4th with GC the clear #1 then BI/SJC. You also have to take into account that PVI was coming off of a tough battle 1 night prior and SJC had days of rest.

Don't forget, SJC beat PVI at PVI last year in season then lost at home in semi-final.

Scoped out the game. Regardless of whether PVI was tired or lost players, SJC played a strong game. Their defensive game was relentless and goalie play was outstanding. I did not see one sub go in the entire game. So that will be a challenge for them. The score doesn’t show it, but it was a gritty game where the refs let them play. But, PVI studies their opponents so I suspect the next match up will be even more interesting. They’ll come back stronger and more determined.

SJC goalkeeping is strong

PVI looked a little spent from last night but there goalie was very sharp. SJC looked like the better team, don’t think it would have mattered whether PVI brought their “A game” or not. Maybe would’ve been a little closer. SJC will have plenty of wins this year. SJC vs. BI will be a good one.

Good to hear. Going to need those subs come playoff time or SJC's in trouble.
