It’s a different level of lacrosse.

practically not even the same sport, let alone the level of physicality

Dallas Jesuit is still regarded as a respected program in Texas - they went out to San Fran and played the two top teams from the Bay area pretty close.

Episcopal School Dallas, Highland Park (Coach Pressler is now the HC) and Dallas Jesuit are viewed as the top programs in Texas year-in and year-out.

I'm certain one of the Texas teams beat Gonzaga last year during their Spring break trip.

Side note, I don't know if lacrosse will truly ever take off in Texas. Spring football is a real thing in the Lone Star state and several HS football coaches at the marquee public schools discourage players from playing lacrosse.

Think you might be surprised if you watch those teams play.

Won't try to argue that they are equivalent to the top tier in this area, it's not close. Probably not even the middle tier of the privates.

But those teams could be competitive with the likes of Potomac, St. Andrew's, Good Counsel, maybe even the Heights. It's not public school lacrosse.

That's just mean. Yorktown played the Heights to a 10-8 game and there are a bunch of publics in this area that would also beat St. Andrews and Good Counsel.

Plenty of the public schools in this area could give the mid level privates a run for their money any day of the week

Yes, there some MD & VA public’s that would easily handle a lot of mid to low tier privates. These schools know it and will usually not schedule those schools. But, the will try and poach their players.

To be honest.....all of the privates try to poach public school players. See it all the time in the school system where I am. Player on his local public one year then his club coach gets him recruited to a private school in Baltimore or the DMV. Once in a while, they end up in the Founders League.

Having the same issue. Maybe it's the game of the week but not being covered by Madlax? That would be on brand for them.

BS. Comments like this are delusional. It has never happened and, until it does, stay off the big boys' pages.
