Tell me about Herbert Hoover?

Anonymous
We are moving to Montgomery County and I am looking at Herbert Hoover MS for my DD. She is smart and outgoing, but would be coming from a small private school. She is particularly good at science and math. Anything we should be aware of - good or bad? How is the principal? Appreciate any input/insights!

I posted the question - we are moving to Maryland from out of state. I realize Herbert Hoover is in a good neighborhood, but that doesn't always mean the school is good. I was hoping to hear some serious comments about the school, i.e., is the principal new, well liked, etc.

The only person I know of who was stuffed in lockers at Hoover stuffed himself in there and closed the door because he was a dumb 11 year old.

I was that kid.

You can count on it. The school is excellent. The rest found on here is junk posted by adults who have gotten into the wine.

We came from a small private into Hoover. We found the math and science good with lots of opportunity for science after school with the environmental club. I thought the previous principal was better than Ms. Kim. The assistant principal Mr Green is taking a new position at another school which is a loss for Hoover. Unfortunately this seems to happen a lot in MoCo where good staff and teachers move to other schools. The counseling staff does make a good effort to manage the bullying but MS is just tough.

There will be other new kids so it may be a little tough in the beginning but it will be okay once she meets a few kids. They are trying to have more after school clubs for the kids.
