What do you have behind your powder room sink?

We have a pedestal sink in our main floor powder room. It is just a half bath, so we don't have the walls tiled. There is no backsplash and I'm not sure that beadboard would look right in our house, but I'm tired of seeing water splashes on the paint behind the sink. (We have flat finish paint in there, which is another complaint. We may repaint with another finish, but we I don't know if that would make much difference. What do you have behind your powder room sink? Any creative suggestions?

We have the kohler portrait pedestal sink. It has a lip at the back. I've never seen water marks back there. I think it must be a combination of your faucet (spraying too forceful or not in the bowl enough) or your pedestal sink.

Eggshell paint is awesome. Wipes very clean! I often clean the walls in the powder room, especially around the toilets where there might be spray from flushing. Ick.

We always do satin in bathrooms.

The flat paint is a big part of your problem.

Yep. I absolutely hate it. We didn't catch it in the contract that that's what the builder uses. It's terrible.

A mirror that I hung low enough that it masks my gorgeous but fragile wallpaper.

We have satin or maybe even semi gloss in the powder room. I like the gloss finish in a small room (which has no window so is pretty dark). Never had trouble with water splashes.
