Ugh, I don't know why this is still bugging me. But, I'm still steamed about how rude people are! Trying to park at a very popular "town center", found a car leaving and turned on our blinker and we were waiting. Another car zoomed up, turned on its blinker, cut us off when the car pulled out and took the spot. This is NOT a case where it was unclear who was first. Made me wish I had a handful of nails to toss under their tires.
I just don't know why people do this kind of stuff! |
That's terrible! I tried to find you a video clip showing how someone got revenge in just this situation but I can't find it. Anyway, feel better.

| The drivers here are bad. I mean, "drove in a lot of cities, this is the worst" bad. Do what you gotta do, I say. |
| Does anyone remember the story more than few years back where a mom got cut off by a pregnant woman and proceeded to get ahead of her and slammed her brakes causing the pregnant woman to go into a ditch-the pregnant mom got hurt and suffered a miscarriage and the mom went to jail for a year or two? There are all kinds assholes out there-I try to do my best to avoid them. Yeah, I would have loved to have thrown a bunch of nails under the car of that jackass who stole my parking space, but then I would get caught and get into a whole mess of trouble a lot worse than losing a parking space-not trying to be sanctimonius here, just practical-try believing in Karma, that'll get you through a lot of these situations. |
| No nails under the tires for those who can think ahead about consequences and have something to lose. |
|
Yeah, the whole "I'd get in trouble" def keeps me from actually doing something to exert revenge. Sometimes I wish I had the gene that doesn't care, however. Oh well.
I just don't know why people do things like this. |

KARMA KARMA KARMA.
It must come back around, otherwise I can't sleep at night! I have road rage incidents/parking lot mishaps/etc. that I seriously remember for years. Even things like this old man hitting me with a newspaper on the metro (like I was a dog! Hello human decency and basic respect!) to tell me get out of the way, and this awful man with a toddler at the Giant a few years ago who was rude to me for no reason....I still regret not going off on these people. But then I remind myself, these folks are probably leading miserable lives, otherwise why would they treat people with absolutely no respect? And I feel sorry for them and thankful that I have a great family etc. Otherwise this type of bullshit would just consume me and that's no fun. It does make me think about moving to a small town somewhere where folks are nice and not so anxious! |

I actually said something to someone who had stolen my spot. I was outside a bank in College Park when this young student driving a mercedes stole the spot I was waiting for. I waited for her to get out, and I told her I was waiting for the spot, and that she stole it. She told me she was just running into the bank, and would only be a minute. Like I was supposed to wait there for her to come out, so I could have my spot back. As if.
I found another spot, and ran into the bank. There she was, still filling out her forms. I made my transaction, and quickly left. She was still filling out her forms, and I just had to mention to her that I was finished and wished her a good day. Yeah, it was bitchy, but so was stealing my parking spot. |
| OMG - for some reason, 50-something women are big on this and 20-something men are big on this - some sort of frustration going on there, perhaps? |
| Too many crazies out there. I don't argue over a parking spot anymore. |
| Best revenge ever: I was waiting, blinkers on, for a spot and a woman came hurtling the wrong way down the one-way lane and stole it. I calmly sat there, signal still on, until she and her teenage daughter got out of the car. She asked why I was still there. I answered that I just wanted to make sure that she knew that the lane was one-way, as I was sure she wouldn't want her daughter to be making that mistake when she is driving. She looked rather...embarrassed. |
That would be very cool....but you just don't know who you might run into and whether they are psycho enough to shoot you or something. I have a male friend who got hit from behind in a little fender bender. THey got out to exchange information, my friend probably was annoyed and got a little mouthy. The guy at FAULT in the car accident blew up and beat the crap out of him.

Oh, I totally agree, and would never let my kids hear this story. But it did feel sweet. |

Life is short and some people are crazy. I would never confront someone who took my spot or did something similarly rude. You just never know if they're the type to over-react . . . and it's highly unlikely they'll "see the light" and apologize anyway.
I'm another one who believes in karma. You get what you give in this world. Take a deep breath, be thankful you're a more considerate and polite person, and let it go.
