Can you ever be not ready to marry and then come around?

Have you ever been a part of or seen a couple where one person was ready for marriage before the other? If so, how did it turn out? Did it ever work out?

Usually* the one who isn't ready for marriage is just not ready for marriage with the person they are with. Seen it happen plenty of times. Guy isn't ready for marriage. Couple breaks up. Guy is married within a year.


*Please note I said usually, not ever single person who ever personed in the universe.

Yes. DH was sure before I was, and ready before I was. He waited a year and a half. Worked out great.

Yes, that seems pretty normal. People don't usually get there at exactly the same time.

The one caveat is that some people may use "not ready for marriage" as code for "I don't ever want to marry you but am too lazy/scared to break up yet." I wouldn't wait on one of these bozos to come around.
