SG - ability to do IUI while pursuing IVF authorization??

Anyone had any luck getting Shady Grove to do an IUI while simultaneously pursuing an IVF authorization? Have IUI coverage - need auth for that, but they turn that around within 24 hours. IVF coverage is less clear, may be excluded, but would prefer to have SG pursue authorization for that while I'm undergoing my last IUI, to minimize wait (I'd be doing BC for 2 weeks before start stims anyway, so doc says no problem to roll from one to another). Recent discussion with K st finance people - was told they simply CAN'T do both - can't have IUI auth on file and then submit for IVF before IUI auth is done. MUST have IUI results on file - well, they've got 6 IUI results on file, it's not like that 7th is going to make or break the insurance auth. Logically it makes no sense - the IVF auth will be for a date well after the IUI - I'd have to wait for the cycle (in which I'd be doing the IUI) to end anyway, and then 2 weeks of BC, and say 2 weeks till retrieval, no overlap at all. And since they won't start BC before insurance authorization, they're basically saying they're not capable of pursuing IVF authorization unless someone is completely out of treatment for a cycle. No 4 more weeks won't kill me, but I'm irritated because this seems illogical.

Not sure if it's possible but I have had luck calling insurance and yelling them we need an expedited answer. The authorization took around 2 weeks when I was told it could take 4-6.

Pp again. Also ar SG I pushed to get on bc before insurance approval and they allowed me to start.
