Replacing Bathroom fixtures

Can anyone recommend what brand of toilet to buy as the bathroom is being redone?

Opinions will vary. Toto, however, seems to be the "it" brand right now. If I were in the market, I'd be trying the intestine-like outer look of the bowl when seen from the side. These tend to be higher cost.

After considerable research, we plan to buy a Toto.

Are you looking at the Drake II - also where do you plan Toto?

Agree on Toto. We went with a skirted American standard which doesn't have that intenstine look.

Wait, is the intestine look a good thing or bad thing? I would have assumed those were less-desirable. They're a lot more of a pain to clean.

Argh! Typos! Should have been I'd be trying to NOT have the intestine-like..... So, intestine look=bad thing, but hard to avoid if your budget is limited.

We love the Toto Drake.

If you want comfort height, the Kohler Cimmaron is good too.

Where do you buy the Toto Drake and what is a good price?

Also one reviewer had posted that their Toto had a rim around the inside of the toilet and it always looked like it was stained. Is this true?

I just got a one-piece, "skirted" Toto model and it is so easy to keep clean despite two boys!

Do NOT buy the Cimmeron. It doesn't flush clean. It's exceptionally gross. We have one and we hate it. Check out this flush test with salt and pepper:

Try Amazon for Toto.

American Standard Cadet

My builder and my plumber both recommended it as the best toilet. It isn't fancy or special, but it never gets plugged and works really well. I could have easily afforded the Toto, but went with their recommendation.

Also - get the comfort height toilets (except if you have little kids). They are just slightly taller and much more comfortable.

We like the Cimarron. We have that in our master bath and the Toto Drake in the teenage boys' bath. Zero clogged toilets in 3 years.
