| does fairfax county have a therapeutic after school program for kids with ASD and other disabilities? |
| Are you talking about after school care? My experience is that SACC accommodates all kids including those with significant disabilities. Any after school program that is open to general ed kids is open to all kids. Now, getting the appropriate supports is another issue and one that we've had to deal with. |
| No. |

Same experience here. Since these aftercare programs are often located at schools and get a discount to operate they are in effect getting public subsidies. Legally, they must accommodate all children including those with disabilities. In practice, many of them don't want to be troubled with our kids. If you need such a program I would fight to get what you need for your child and your work.

No. There is nothing like that. |
| Our HFA son loved his school's SACC program and it really helped him socialize. |
Fairfax County has this https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/ncs/tracers/up/programlisting.aspx . We've done the Summer Adventure Camp and it's been good value. |
| Op here so what do u do for after care I hear sacc has a long wait |
It totally depends on the school. We were #54 on the list when I first signed up for SACC but by the time school rolled around, we were in. |
A lot of daycares will pick up at FCPS elementary schools. |
op here yes but do they accept kids on the spectrum? I find that sometimes they do not. |

My child was in an ED center and most of his classmates went to after school care at various daycares, so I would think, yes some would. (Assuming that kids in a self-contained ED class would be more difficult to handle than most kids with ASD).
If SACC is full, your other option is an after school nanny. |
