| I am so stuck on boy names. We already had one boy and used the only name we agreed on. Now with #2 I like Leo and Elio (but all my Spanish speaking friends says Elio sounds like Helium--because it is). DH likes Ellis. Last name is long and ethnic. I feel like Ellis is really WASPy (and I'm half WASP! but there is such a thing as too much WASP). Thoughts? I think I need to break out... |
| I'm right there with you but with girl names. Elio reminds me of the pizza. What about Emilio? There is an Emilio in our daycare who goes by Lio. |
| No specific advice. This happened to us. We agreed on one boy name and two girls names. So naturally had two boys. Couldn't agree on the second boy's name until about 14 hours into the delivery. |
| What about Elias? Or, trade your boy for a girl to someone desperate for a boy. Problem solved! |
Emilio is a great suggestion! But I'm biased because I just named my baby that... How about Elliott? |
OP here. Honestly wanted a girl because we had so many names! But I think I'll keep the boy...for now.
|
| Oh yeah, Elio's pizza. I knew it sounded familiar! I remember those from childhood. Ok, you helped me weed that one out. |
| Love Elliott, DH says it is too WASPy wanna-be Ivy Leaguer. |
|
No votes for Leo???
|
| Eli. I think Ellis is becoming a girls' name at this point. |
| Happened to us with girls names. Just start over, go through the book, make your own lists then compare. Then pick. For us, our girls were far enough apart that our tastes had changed and I entertained names I wouldn't have before and pitched out names that were high on my earlier list, but didn't love or feel like fighting with DH over. We found a name. We didn't have a middle name til induction had started. |
| Not great advice, but right there with you! Don't know if baby #2 next month is a boy or girl, but we have a ton of girls names, and hardly any boys names we can agree on. Used up our great boy name on DC #1! Good luck! |
| DS just wants to name the baby Shark. I sort of like it, actually... |
Only if the middle name is Nado. |
| No suggestions but lots of sympathy! It took us four days after delivery to name our second (same sex) DC. |
