Where did my thread go?

Anonymous
I posted a thread asking "would you pay your babysitter extra in this situation" about how my sitter had to watch my neighbor kids. I can't find the thread anywhere ... ?

It was probably deleted because babysitter topics need to go in the separate forum created specifically for that purpose.

I don't think she wants a nanny's opinion from the nanny forum.

To meit seemed like she wanted A) the opinions of other parents and B) to bitch/commiserate with other moms.

The proper place was the parenting forum in my opinion, not the nanny board.

A babysitting question does not need to be in the nanny forum, does it? Babysitting (HS kid or mothers helper watching your kid while you run to the PTA meeting or have date night) is completely separate from nannying amd nanny issues. Different purpose, different pay scale, different requirements/qualifications.

I don't think your opinion counts as much as Jeff's opinion, and historically Jeff's opinion has resulted in posts about babysitters in the babysitter forum. There's even a giant sticky post on the top of the General Parenting forum telling everyone that.

There's a whole forum about babysitters within the nanny forum.

I just saw that. Very little traffic.

Even so, OPs thread was less about babysitting than it wss about her neighbor kids being rude and how to handle the awkwardness of her whole situation. It seemed like a thread where she wanted the opinions of other moms and not looking necessarily for a group od nannies to give their feedback. Of course, I could be wrong on her attention but that was the vibe her OP and most of the posts were giving.

Did you read the original post?

The post was as related to sitters as the "would you hire a hot nanny" thread or the countless SAH/WOH wars on whether or not a nanny is better than preschool vs staying at home.

Did the hot nanny thread get moved to the nanny forum?

I believe there is a ton of traffic on the Parenting Discussion forum vs. the Nanny one.

So for that reason alone, many people prefer to post questions on the Parenting one.

When posting a question, you truly want as many responses as possible.

Jeff can't move threads between the DCUM forums and the Nanny forums. They get deleted.

From the sticky at the top of General Parenting: We do not have the ability to move topics from this forum to the Nanny Forums. If you wrongly post in this forum, your message and any subsequent responses will be deleted.

Looks like mine just got deleted too... because it has the word nanny in it(???) Even though I was asking about my 3 year olds behavior. Argh.
