Hi, I am on a wait list at a child care center for infant care to start in Sept 2008. I was wondering, is there any general guideline, or what has your experience been, with moving up the waitlist? I am 10th on the waitlist, and they expect 5 infant slots to open up by fall (due to babies moving up to toddler class). I think that's pretty good, since so many people get on 5 different waitlists, so many may turn down the spot at this center. However, I am 10th on the waitlist of the priority group (one employer has priority over other applicants, as is the case at many downtown centers), so these other waitlisters are also in the priority employer group too, so they may be more likely to take the spot. What do you think my chances of getting a spot are?

There is really no way of knowing. You may want to consider a back-up plan just in case. |
