| Obviously this would not be full-proof, but for those of us avoiders, it would be a first step. I would happily pay for a dog to smell me and if the dog detected cancer I would absolutely look into that. If the dog didn't detect anything I'd still get the recommended screenings. Maybe the dog could save some of us from too many CT scans? |
| There are cancer sniffing dogs. They can accurately detect thyroid, breast, ovarian, prostate cancer, and others. |
Yes, I know that, but as far as I know I can't go to my doctor and get a referral for a dog smelling me. Where can I go to get a trained dog to smell me? |
Like everything medical, they need lots of large studies before approval by the FDA. It's still a few years down the road. http://www.dogsdetectcancer.org/dogs-detect-cancer-blog/dogs-smell-cancer |

I would love this too!
My friend has a diabetic service dog. Love him! He can smell her levels getting low when she's sleeping an wake her up. He truly has saved her life multiple times. |
| I've got one! She could detect it in my cats and my friend. She has a sincere and clear reaction to it. Maybe I should start a business. |

I don't know the answer to this but I just want to say it made me laugh. |
Me too. Would they sniff your butt? All kidding aside, it does sound like a great idea. They have peanut allergy sniffing dogs, so why not cancer? |
