Medical subrogation - Rawlings Group

Anonymous
I got a call from the Rawlings Group, calling on behalf of Aetna. They are a medical subrogation company. They "have a few questions" about one of my dependents. I'm very confused; I get the impression they typically deal with injuries or accidents, and we've had neither with Aetna. Has anyone ever received one of these inquiries? Should I be worried?

I had a similar call. It was after I got physical therapy for sciatica. They just wanted to know if I had been in a car wreck, whether anyone else was at fault for the injury. (Answer: no). No big deal.

I have a medically complex child and get letters from them all the time on behalf of Aetna. They should specifically tell you the claim that they are processing for subrogation. As PP poster mentioned, very standard practice and no big deal.
