I am not sure there are many Americans who would disagree with this:

Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi: "We never asked for a ceasefire or negotiations. We are really to defend ourselves as long as it takes until President Trump comes to the point that this is an illegal war. There are people being killed only because President Trump wants to have fun."

Great. Maybe Israel will finally stop asking the United States for our bullshit military tech now . What makes any military great has always been the people serving/fighting, not technology. The Vietcong and the mujahideen in Afghanistan beat US and Soviet Union with no technology and more casualties on their side.

You need morale and willingness to die for the cause to win. Iranians have that. It’s existential for them. For Americans and Israelis, it is not that deep. We just wanted to blow things up and kill Iranians for fun like the Iranian foreign minister said. You can’t do that. Nothing about war is casual and it isn’t a two week vacation. Trump is out of his range here. There’s a reason seven presidents going back to Ronald Reagan all declined Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to invade Iran

It's also because Persia is one of the great civilizations. Neither America nor Israel can make that claim.

This could be the usual macho war talk, but I believe it because the regime in power does not care about human lives. I don't see how we get out of this quagmire. Iran can't back down because they know Trump never honors any agreements anyways. Trump can't back down because he can't afford to look weak. The Gulf States can't support our side because we're allied with Israel. Israel could just stop, but they won't.

If this continues, eventually Russia will openly ally with Iran and the Gulf States will kick us out and start a standoff with Israel. Then the nukes will fall.

Maybe Israel will finally back down soon, then we can declare victory and withdraw ourselves. Everything goes back to the way it was.

The Iranian navy has not even begun to fight. It’s no surprise the U.S. is so terrified of sending ships or aircraft carriers into the Persian Gulf because they know the Iranian navy will immediate sink every single ship!

Why can’t Trump back down? He can declare mission accomplished and withdraw troops and carriers. Fox News will laud him as a hero. His MAGA base won’t know the difference & will just be happy they can fill up their pickups for less than $100.
