DD is hosting 9 of her teammates for a sleepover tomorrow night. We are serving pizza (along with veggies, fruit, etc.) for dinner.
The kids range in age from 8-14. How many slices of pizza would you plan for each child and what toppings would you recommend? DD isn't much of a pizza eater but requested it for the 'main course' since it's easy. To that end, I have no idea how much to order or what kind is best for girls this age. TIA |
I probably would do 4-5 pizzas. I rather do more than less. Cheese, pepperoni, sausage. Stick with the one topping kind for that age group. |
More rather than less.
One vegetarian option (cheese). One meat option (pepperoni). |
I don't know about girls but when my DS (13) had his hockey friends over last year, I couldn't believe how much pizza, snacks, fruit, and gatorade they ate and drank. Plus dessert plus anything else they could find in my house. Get more than you think |
Boys at that age are supposed to be walking appetites, huh? You can always freeze leftover pizza. Costco pizzas are pretty delicious too, especially the plain cheese option. |
Plain cheese frozen pizzas, various toppings (veggies, pineapple, meats), start cooking the pizzas as the girls arrive, they can decide how they are covered, they'll eat as they get hungry. Best of all, if you get 6 or 7 pizzas, but they don't want much, you have extras in the freezer for next time. Stock up on fruit, fresh veggies, etc. |
I would count 2-3 slices of pizza per child. I order pizzas for our school lunches (K-8) and nearly all of them want 2-3 slices. |
I'd plan three slices per kid. One cheese, one meatball, one pepperoni. |
