I bought disposable contact lenses for my teen a while back. He does have glasses too for when needed.
Anyway, I have built up a stash as his prescription changed. Can he use the old NOT expired ones? He is script is 2.75 and the old ones are 2.5. Would it make a big difference? Should I just use new ones? They are covered by our plan but I am wondering if this is an issue. I don't want to be wasteful. |
| If they are expired I wouldn't use them. Eyes are nothing to mess around with. |
| In the future see if his doctor will take back leftover when his prescription changes. My doctor does this and it's a wonderful way to save a bit of money. |
| Also, if your insurance covers it then it doesn't matter if you have leftovers. Ditch them. He will be much more comfortable wearing the correct prescription. |
Did you read the BOLD where it's written they are NOT expired. Answer the question asked. |
The one doc does. However I buy at at Costco now and it's much cheaper. |

I'd use them up. The difference isn't that much. Maybe use them on days when he's not driving if it makes any difference during that time.
|
| I wear my unexpired old contact lenses if where I bought them won't take them back. .25 isn't that big a difference in Rx strength. |
| Are you sure Costco won't take them back? |
| I'd ask your eye dr |
What would a noticeable difference be? |
|
Use them up. Both my eyes used to be -4.5 and my left eye just changed to -4.75. I continued using up the stock of -4.5s and then placed an order for the new lenses.
I wish they were the same still, it's so much easier having the same px across eyes. |
| Quarter diopter is no biggie. Use them. |
| I'm surprised people are saying .25 isn't much of a difference. It makes a huge difference for me. |
