Filed 2014 taxes in March but no tax transcript on record

Anonymous
We are closing on a house (hopefully!) next Friday.

I filed my taxes in March. Twice, my mortgage broker has done the Form 4506 to request a transcript of my tax returns for the bank/underwriting, and twice, it has apparently come back as no record of being filed. My partner (who will be co-owner of the house) also filed in March and his tax transcript request came back ok.

What to do? Waiting on his response right now, I have previously provided to him a copy of the checks I paid to the IRS and to the state of Virginia. I do have a copy of what I filed but it is packed now in a storage unit since we moved to our new area last weekend but are in temporary housing until we close next week.

is it possible that either YOU or the mortgage guy input the incorrect SSN?

I correctly inputted mine, and filled out the form on paper for him so unless there was an error on the IRS side, TWICE, no, it is correct.

Since posting I've also tried to request a copy of my transcript online and also over the phone and was told it is unavailable. Guess we'll be digging through boxes in our storage unit..

IRS had a huge hack attempt (actually I think it was succesfful) on the system that lets people pull taxpayer transcripts. That's why you may be having no luck requsting it via their automated system.

Maybe you can send in your own form to request it, then forward the resutls to the mortgage company? Then you'll know the SSN was typed in correctly.
