Is your child ready for exams?

Anonymous
I know there is a lot of scrutiny over the historic low performance of high school students on the MCPS math exams. However, does anyone look at high school performance on all exams in the county?

For the last month, my children have had partial days, days off, as well as days no instruction was taking place even when school was in session. They will be taking exams next week and I am wondering, can they really be ready for these tests given the lack of instruction during May? What do you think about your child's readiness for final exams?

My child has been working through the Geometry exam study guide with her math tutor. The tutor noticed that they've been covering a lot of the material last-minute to make up for being behind in their teaching schedule. My daughter has LDs and needs time to learn a new topic. It is so frustrating to have her forced to do "cram sessions" because she never does well with that approach.
