Infertility Support and Discussion
| Did anyone eat pineapple after IVF transfer? I have been eating the core and the pineapple for 5 days past ET. Any thoughts? Thanks |
| My acupuncturist said this helps with implantation. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. |

I just had to click on this thread when I saw the subject heading.
Wha?? You mean that you've been craving pineapple? Are you thinking that this is a pregnancy craving or something? I just don't think your pineapple fixation has anything to do with IVF transfer. And I've had 14 of them. |

No, I never ate pineapple. I did bed rest for 2 days straight, didn't move except to go to the bathroom. I did the prescribed PIO (progesterone in oil), progresterone suppositories and baby aspirin to help with stickiness and implantatioin.
Never heard of the pineapple idea. I've had 2 successful pregnancies and births from 4 IVF cycles. |
| I ate pineapple and the core for about a week after my ivf. 1st one was successful and like the PP I also took progesterone in oil, baby asprin, etc. Who knows what affect, if any, the pineapple had, but it didn't seem to hurt! I did read (as I imagine you have too) that the core is what contains the nutrient that is helpful. I also read that once pregnant pineapple in large doses could cause uterine contractions, so I stopped after the 1st week or so. Again, more myths probably, but hey..... |

You know what - I eat pineapple all the time and it hasn't done anything to get me pregnant.
Acupuncturists say a lot of things that have no support whatsoever. Mine told me to eat warm stews instead of salads. Yeah, right, like that is going to do something when shooting $3000 worth of drugs into my body in 10 days doesn't do anything. |
| OP here-No I am not craving Pineapple you eat it to help implantation. I know probably a myth but actually a nurse told me this, and yes I am doing the PIO shots and all the other vitamins. Thanks for your help. |
It's a myth! I ot pregnant with my daughter 2 years and and am not pregnant with twins and I did not eat pineapple. But...I guess it wouldn't hurt!
