I'm talking about Myon, ExtraMath, library apps, etc. that are funded by your school district. Our school offers many tech educational games but we rarely use them. My kids will try them out for a day or two, but they lose interest.
MY DS liked extra math - I tried to encourage and he did it for an entire year.
My second grader loves Dreambox, but she maxed out second grade and can't really work more without explicit instruction so she stopped. She also looked at the books apps (maybe that is myon?) and nothing there really caught her attention.

My son loves IXL and Xmath. There are also a couple of other ones that I can't think of right now - but we get to them through the school website.
He maxed out Xmath two years ago, and now does IXL. He likes it because he can go to higher grades when he's ready. He also loves trying the high school courses - like Algebra for fun - even though I'm not sure he really understands it all yet. They also have Language Arts section now, and I make him do that one for time "points" to play video games. It gives him the grammar that I don't think they are teaching in school these days. |
My oldest (K) LOVES Pebble Go, but that's the only one she'll do on her own "screen time."
3rd grade. Once a week for 20 minutes.
