We're moved into a new house with a backyard and DH is newly into grilling. Any good recipes? Marinade or not. Tips/tricks? We're BBQ novices. No food allergies. Thank you!

Don't think flank steak needs a marinade, but love chimichurri sauce:

Definitely marinade. This is the one I use:

| Equal parts grapefruit juice and soy sauce, plus a small bit of olive oil. If you're feeling fancy, add some chopped garlic and fresh ginger. |

We love this one:

| I would not marinate it because it will not sear properly. Just salt and pepper and I agree on the chimichurri sauce. |

Flank steak is a tough cut. If you do not marinate it, it's like chewing shoe leather. |
Wipe off the marinade first and it will sear. |
It just has to be cooked medium rare. |

| Agree with PPs, blot off excess marinade, cook rare or medium rare, and off course, cut against the grain. |

Olive oil, juice from a large orange, two limes, freshly chopped cilantro, garlic, and sea salt.
Perfection. |
