I always thought the ages of the couples are mere coincidence. You meet a guy in a bar, you think he's cute, you ask him how old he is, he's either 25 or28.
Same thing with men. Or do guys make a beeline for girls who look x years younger? |
| I met DH when I was 24 he was 29. In my experience with friends, it's the younger woman who seeks out the older guy. Especially in the early mid 20s years when a 24 year old guy is a lot less mature than a 29 year old guy. Out of all my girlfriends my age, I'd say 75% of them are dating older guys because they were looking for that. |
| Men make a beeline for women who look fresh and uncomplicated (good glowing skin) and not tired looking. That tends to be younger women as their lives are probably less complicated with less responsibility. |

| 30+, yeah. Before 30, not really. |
| Our friend, single 30yo male, targets younger women. In fact, he just went to a big party specifically for DC summer interns and said it was like shooting fish in a barrel. |
| Certainly, young girls are more mature than men their same age and until i was in my early thirties i sought out, older more mature men. Then there was a lulling period of age equality that convinced me to return to my former practice. |

It's not like people walk around with name tags that have their ages written on them.
Men hit on who they find attractive. No man will prefer an frumpy, unattractive 22 year old over a beautiful 31 year old. But it is a reality that younger people tend to be more physically attractive. |
This exactly! |
