My annual review is coming up in a few weeks. I would like to ask for a reasonable raise because I fixed the #1 problem for a $50 million contract and enabled us to go into re-compete. Should I start the ask now or wait till re ire time?

Depends on when comp is set by the higher ups. At my firm, by review time my numbers are already pretty defined. If you wait too long you'll miss the "real" review time.

The thing about fixing the # 1 problem as the basis for a raise, it depends....if your job is to fix the hard problems, it may not be compelling...
