wacky period & postpartum

so I used to be so regular with my periods prior to delivery DC #1 and now I am going between 35 and 40 days between periods. I am posting on this board because DH and I are going to begin trying to conceive our second child in the next 3-4 months and I am curious if I should have anything to worry about regarding the irregularity of my period?? Is this normal post delivery?? DC is 1-year, BTW.

FWIW, we tried for one year to conceive DC #1 & went in for a full fertility work-up. I had an HSG and we conceived the following month.

Are you breastfeeding? When did your periods start after birth?

My cycles were irregular for awhile - maybe the first 4-5 cycles, and then slightly irregular after that (meaning sometimes 27 or 30 days rather than my normal 28). I went in for fertility workups after TTC #2, and the docs I consulted with weren't concerned with my cycles (although I had charted for 6 months while TTC so they could see that I was ovulating and had a sufficient luteal phase). But then I started acupuncture to help with fertility, and that normalized my periods (although didn't help me get pregnant).

OP here -I am no longer breastfeeding. I got my period about 5-months postpartum.

Are you charting? It's really helpful to know exactly when you're ovulating.
