Looking for a fun, brightly colored rug for a playroom- so it has to be kid friendly and comfortable enough for laying on. 6x9 up to 8x10. Under $300. Suggestions? |
Bright is fun, but I recommend against anything with white in it - it'll look gross inside two years and even though you want comfort, you really want low pile.
Can you give us a little more direction? Geometric? open to educational type rugs? |

Ikea would also be a good place for rugs. |

We got ours from RugsUSA (yes, I also posted on the kitchen thread - we just moved into a new house and I had to buy four new rugs on the cheap). They have the same rugs I've seen on sites like Wayfair and Overstock for less - brands like Nuloom, Loloi, Momeni, Safavieh. And a billion options. |
+1 re: RugsUSA. I have received several compliments on the rugs that I purchased from them.
For our playroom, however, I ordered an 'outdoor rug' from overstock. I put outdoor in quotes because the rug seems too soft for outdoor use, but it is perfect for a kids area. |
check with overstock.com and home depot.com for indoor/outdoor rugs. We got two really nice ones - 8x10 or so - for around $300 or less each. They had some decent patterns. We chose more subdued ones, but there were plenty of brighter options. |
Ikea has really nice ones that are very durable and very colorful, perfect for a playroom |
We got ours from Land of Nod. It's held up wonderfully. They also give good discounts and sales, so you could try there. |
Pottery Barn Kids has some cute options! |
Yeah, we have the $19 rug from IKEA in our playroom (which I suppose is technically our eat in part of our kitchen but we don't use it for that), it's awesome. |
