Help me pick dining room furniture

Anonymous
Currently redecorating the dining room. I've got most of it picked out, but I'm trying to decide on side chairs for the table. So far, I've picked out the following:

Table (Arhaus Kensington): http://www.arhaus.com/furniture/dining-room-furniture/dining-room-tables/kensington-72-inch-rectangle-extension-dining-table-in-brown/

Chairs for head and foot of table (Restoration Hardware Martine): https://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1633372&categoryId=cat1536051

Cabinet (Arhaus Taja): http://www.arhaus.com/furniture/dining-room-furniture/buffets-and-hutches/taja-belle-tall-cabinet-in-black/

Lights (Kichler Evie): http://www.kichler.com/products/product/evie-6-light-chandelier-brushed-nickel-ni-43628ni.aspx

Now I'm trying to decide on side chairs. We have young kids and this is our only eating area. I'd like the furniture to be fairly kid friendly, but don't want to totally sacrifice style for that. Here's what I'm deciding between:

Arhuas Zona (fabric or leather seat) - http://www.arhaus.com/furniture/dining-room-furniture/dining-room-chairs/zona-dining-side-chair-with-upholstered-seat-in-rubbed-black/

Arhaus Margot (leather) - http://www.arhaus.com/furniture/dining-room-furniture/dining-room-chairs/margot-leather-dining-side-chair-in-chaps-havana-brown-and-rubbed-black/

Arhaus Margot (linen) - http://www.arhaus.com/furniture/dining-room-furniture/dining-room-chairs/margot-upholstered-dining-side-chair-in-linen-natural-and-weathered/

I'm leaning toward the black chairs to contrast with the table but match the cabinet. Thinking the leather might be more kid friendly, but not sure if I love the look.

Any thoughts?

Just my opinion as a design enthusiast but not a professional. My initial impression is that there's a lot going on there - different wood colors, different fabrics, different chair styles. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. In terms of the side chairs...the black cross-backed chairs would seem to be the most practical for the kids and they do match well with the black cabinet, but personally I just don't like them and they look uncomfortable for guests. The Margot chairs are significantly different from the main chairs. If I went with them, then I would embrace the differences and go with the leather, especially since the chairs match the cabinet nicely. Plus, I think that they look really nice. I would never trust kids around linen upholstery, and I would be concerned that the fabric would be similar to but not the same as the main chairs. Plus, you need some way to incorporate the black cabinet into the room. My choice would be the leather Margot chairs.

you didn't list as an option, but you could also do bench seating.

If I were you, I would order the pieces you LOVE and then stare at them all together when they arrive. You might want a different thing for the chairs. FWIW World Market has those identical chairs for 1/2 the price. You could always buy a few and try them out, return if you hate them.
