Just my opinion as a design enthusiast but not a professional. My initial impression is that there's a lot going on there - different wood colors, different fabrics, different chair styles. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. In terms of the side chairs...the black cross-backed chairs would seem to be the most practical for the kids and they do match well with the black cabinet, but personally I just don't like them and they look uncomfortable for guests. The Margot chairs are significantly different from the main chairs. If I went with them, then I would embrace the differences and go with the leather, especially since the chairs match the cabinet nicely. Plus, I think that they look really nice. I would never trust kids around linen upholstery, and I would be concerned that the fabric would be similar to but not the same as the main chairs. Plus, you need some way to incorporate the black cabinet into the room. My choice would be the leather Margot chairs.
