It has been really rainy lately where I live (not DC), and the boxwoods that are near my front door stink so much. Totally smell like cat pee. We're planning on pulling all the boxwoods and re-landscaping next year, but for now, I need to live with them. It is definitely the boxwoods, not roaming cats or anything.
Can I spray them with anything to try to temper the smell? What about something like vinegar with some essential oil mixed in? I know it might not last too long but want to have my windows open and not smell them, or have something to spray before people come over. |
Haven't heard of anyone spraying box wood, but you might want to ask GardenWeb or some such specialized website. I love the smell of boxwood myself ![]() |
Boxwood's smell is like cilantro for taste. People either love it or hate it.
Both are great in my book. |
