garden hose rack that isn't wall mount, or huge?

Anonymous
Any ideas for a way to store my garden hose?

The connection is in the garage, with concrete walls, and we're renting, so I don't want to mount anything. I don't want to spend a fortune because we won't be here more than a couple of years. I saw one on amazon that slips over the spigot - I like the idea of it but it gets terrible reviews. Any solution I'm missing here so I can stop tripping over the hose??

We have an iron one that stakes into the ground from Home Depot. After years of unwieldy hose reels, etc., I'm very happy with this solution and it works very well. I think it was $30, in the garden section.

I can't find what you're talking about, but it sounds ideal. If you have an extra minute and are feeling charitable, do you mind posting a link?

We use those too. We got ours at hardware stores and garden centers.

We have something like this which sounds like what PP was talking about:

You said the connection is inside the garage, though, are you going to mount the hose outside or inside? Those are designed to push into the dirt. For another $5 worth of cheap bucket and a small bag of concrete you could make your own sturdy base that would stand on the floor.

I'm the PP who originally posted about the staked rack, and yes, this is the one. I missed that your connection was in the garage, though; the suggestion above to set it in a bucket of sand or concrete is a good one.

I've had wall-mounted racks, reeling racks, etc., and honestly this is the first thing I haven't wanted to throw out the window.
