What is going on? There is a poster (pretty sure it's the same one) who constantly starts threads as a bully pulpit to blame URMs and Jews for taking college seats away from Asians. The threads are under the thinly veiled guise of purporting to start dialogue but in a few posts becomes an individual sounding board for the academic shortcomings of URMs and overreaching of Jews in the academic system.
No way am I trying to hamper free speech but this is a bit much. I expect this in the Political forum but does this type of superiority speech belong in the College Forum? Could it be moved to the political forum? http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/472080.page http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/473103.page |
Those threads were started by different posters, but both were dominated by the same poster. That poster also posts similarly in the AAP and VA Schools forums. The poster's own posts are frequently right up against the line of acceptability, but responses to them cause the discussion to cross over. I will pay more attention to this trend now and try to keep things under control. |
I was the person who originally linked the study on the soft quota on Asians because some poster keep saying there is no data on that issue. The study was done by a Jewish person and rather matter of fact. It is political only in the sense that anything to do with race is political. One poster seems to had a run with it.
If anything, the amount of anti_Asian vitriol left unchallenged is much more amazing to me than anything the other side has pointed out. |
I havent followed those threads, but for whatever it's worth i'd say many DCUM posters have a clear bias against Asians, Jews and Latinos, and that bias is often rewarded, not challenged, by the majority of white and black readers in these pages. |
Jeff, this is so played out. How do you stand it? |
