My positive experience at Bella Bethesda hair salon

I want to start by saying I am not affiliated in anyway with this salon. I am the type of person who gets their hair done 2 times a year. I have difficult, coarse hair that is hard to style once I leave a salon. I color my own hair and it looks it, but I have had so many lackluster dye and highlights in the past, I was tired of wasting time and money.

Bella Bethesda was recommended to me by someone on the DCUM list serve. I called to make a last minute appointment with the stylist that was recommended but she was not available. I wanted someone with loads of experience with color, but the stylist that was available was more junior (with about 5 years experience). The receptionist told me to try her - she is good. So, I booked an appt. with Tania.

I go to the salon and I am so nervous. Tania recommended that she remove some color where it was very dark. Sure...why not. She then proceeded to highlight my hair and I am holding my breath as she rinses my hair after the process. I am waiting for her to show some signs of "shock" or to cringe. But all she says is "perfect!". I felt better. I go back to the chair and look in the mirror and I am relieved to see that my hair is slightly lighter, which I wanted, with some nice highlights that aren't orange or platinum. She cuts and styles my hair and whn I looked in the mirror, i am thrilled. I almost cried.

The best part about this experience is that now, 4 weeks later, the color still looks nice and I can actually style my own hair! I have received a ton of compliments.
If anyone is interested in going, please email me. I have a stack of referral cards that will give you 20% of your 1st haircut. You can google bella bethesda to get more info. The total price of spot color removing, hair color, full highlight, cut and style was $215. The whole process took about 3 hours, which I wasn't expecting, so the owner of the salon actually ran out to feed my meter. My email is caeserap@yahoo.com. I'd love to send a referral card to you. (I think I get some points to credit to a future cut, so we both win). There is another stylist named George who came by to check out my new style and I really liked how he did his client's hair. My stylist told me he is very popular and has a strong following so he is proably more expensive.

I go to Boy Sharp. He is awesome with my curly, super frizzy hair. This place is so friendly and unpretentious.

I wish I was a new customer to get the 20% off discount.

I stopped in for a product once and appreciated that they were friendly and open on... either a Sunday or a Monday. I just remember having to call around, then shlep out to Bethesda to find some one who was open and had this in stock.
