I have started to have pretty much continuous heartburn and occasionally in the night I regurgitate stomach acid, which I think is known as acid reflux, I am also regularly constipated. My breath also smells and in a morning my Retainer stinks really bad!!! I have also noticed a little bit of urine leakage during the day, not a lot but enough to start using a small pad.
I am male, early 40's, a bit overweight but only about 10 or 12 pounds above my normal weight, and I have a stressful job which involves a long commute and long hours. I also am divorced and have some stress around that. I also have a poor diet at times I guess and eat quite a lot of junk food which I don't seem to be able to say No too! I just really worried about myself and feel really low, I am scared to go to the Doctor in case it is something serious but don't know what actions would be best to start to turn things around and see some improvement in my health??? |
| I'd see a doctor to immediately address the reflux and bad breath as well as get an overall check up. I'd also see a nutritionist so you can learn about food and your body. You can address a lot of your issues with improved nutrition. Best of luck to you! |

Doctor ASAP. Any change like this should be evaluated. Its probably something easily treated but could be something serious.
Never, ever be scared to go to the doctor. Its the fear that will harm you, not the health issue. Call first thing Tuesday morning. The more you force yourself to make those kinds of calls, the easier it will get. You might also look into a good therapist. You're really suffering right now and help is available. There's no excuse not to get it. |
| There is a relationship between bad breath and GERD (stomach doesn't work efficiently and food decays). I had the same thing as you and, after years of doctors, Prilosec and that sort of thing with no results, decided to take a more holistic approach. Cut out triggers which for me were alcohol, fatty food and tomatoes. Worked wonders. Best. |
| The urine leakage is likely related to the constipation. Address that and it will probably stop. |
