So, I POAS after AF didn't show up and I got a BFP, I am trying not to get my hopes up, so I am slightly in denial--have yet to tell DH. I had a m/c a few months ago and a d&c, I absolutely hated the OB office with the way they handled everything and don't particularly want to go back there. I called to check and see when I should be seen and they said to come in and get a blood test to confirm the pregnancy and I believe she mentioned checking betas. Should I go in to do this? or simply wait to be seen at 8-10weeks? TIA.

I was in your shoes with everything. I switched OBs after it was clear that I was ok after the D&C. I couldn't handle going back to that office after they were pretty insensitive. New practice is so much better. I had another loss unfortunately but they were so wonderful. Find a new OB and good luck!
Thanks I found a midwife practice I might switch to but they don't see patients till 8-10 weeks, I am trying to decide if there is any value in getting the blood work done at the ob office (e.g. if they find low progesterone or something) or just wait it out.
There is value in early bloodwork to confirm and to check things out. This is important if you have had early loss issues.
I was with a practice that I hated, generally, and decided to switch. My first appointment with my new OB (who I love), I found out I had a MMC. He was so wonderful with it, and I was really glad I switched. With the first practice, they did a blood test, although there really was no reason for it as far as I could tell. Then when I got pregnant again with my new doctor, I called right away, thinking he'd also want to do a blood test, but he said, no all it will do is confirm what we already knew. Instead he just had me come in at 6 weeks instead of 8. So, I think you're good waiting. But, of course if it will make you feel better, then do what you need to do. GL!

I think it's important to go in for the bloodwork. Chances are you won't even see the Ob.
