OP, different drugs have totally different dosages. 40 mg of one is totally different than 40 mg of another. You can google dosing of the drug you're interested in to see if 40 mg is high.

Just from googling, it seems 40 mg. is a moderate dosage of Prozac, above the usual starting dosage but below the max recommended.

I am on 200 mg. of Zoloft. Now 40 mg. would be quite low for me.

Prozac dosages generally range from 10 mg up to a mx of 80mg. 40 mg daily is fairly common. If you have concerns about your dosage you need to discuss this with your doctor. The right dosage varies from person to person, and also depends on the symptoms you're treating.

Agree and this is what I started on...my prescribing doc called it "placebo level" by way of consoling me...yes, I was anxious about taking anti anxiety meds.
