Small laundry room- hamper?

I have a smallish laundry room that we walk through to get to the garage. I only has two front loaders and then a sink cabinet, along with upper cabinets and the countertop. It's on the first floor. We have hampers in the upstairs bathrooms, which work well, but where do you put clothes waiting to be washed downstairs? I'd love a spot to put a hamper, but I can't think of one. There's no floor space. I stored rags and such in the washer but they all started smelling too musty.
Where do you all put the dirty clothes in the laundry room? |

| I have a small laundry closet. I keep two baskets stacked on top of the dryer. (one is for activewear, which I wash separately in smaller loads with different detergeant, and one is for all else.) When one starts to get full, I do laundry. |

I don't bring laundry out of the bedrooms until I'm ready to do it. We have a tiny pass-through laundry room.
If I had to find a place to store laundry in the laundry room, I've seen some angled shelves mounted above washers that hold laundry baskets. I don't like the look of that for my laundry room (it is near the main part of the house), but it would be an option I'd look at. Something like this but I would make it look nicer with a solid shelf or something:

We have full cabinets with doors above the washer, dryer and sink area. I have been leaving laundry in a plastic bin on the countertop, but it's not my favorite. Maybe I'll try to find a short basket with a lid? |

I have a five and a half foot wide pass-through laundry room. After considerable research, I found this hamper which works great for our needs:
