| I'm a FTM finishing up the final leg of travel with my 10-week old (our first trip and solo). At DCA this morning, a woman came up to me and said she had a 9-month old at home, had seen me walking with all of my baby gear (front carrier, car seat), and that she'd be happy to watch anything if I needed to get up before her flight boarded. It was so kind and generous, and made me tear up a little! I said thank you and didn't end up needing her help, but wanted to post my thanks here, too, just in case she's a reader. Thank you! The gesture was very much appreciated. I look forward to paying forward the kindness to other new moms in the future. |
| Great story, OP! I remember when I flew alone with my baby for the first time. I was so worried about her crying a lot and bothering the other passengers (looking back, I wish I hadn't worried so much). The most amazing thing was that the woman sitting next to me turned out to be a professional nanny! She was very reassuring and everything went well. |
That warms my heart such good people out there!

| It could also have been a scam. |
| I did a solo transatlantic flight with my then 6 month old son a few years ago. I was of course worried about him crying etc., but all for naught- he was a champ and my fellow passengers could not have been more accommodating and understanding. Restored my faith in humanity! |
Yeah, I hear drug dealers will take used baby clothes as payment. <eye roll> Glad the sisterhood of traveling mom's had your back, OP! |
You never know what people may steal. |
No kidding, someone broke into my car years ago and took a bowling ball and shoes. |
If it was past the security checkpoint, the woman must have had a boarding pass for a flight. Do you really think the woman would bring all the stolen baby gear on a flight with her? |
