I thought you decided home improvement and decorating were not really compatible? Seems like the broader real estate forum includes things like additions, construction, etc. This didn't seem like the optimal solution to...a problem?

Your reading of the description of the Real Estate forum is incorrect, as is your memory of my feelings of a lack of compatibility of home improvement and decorating. Additions and remodeling definitely belong in the home improvement forum. New construction is a bit of a gray area and probably depends on the specifics of the post (eg. "is new construction a good idea in Pimmit Hills?" goes in Real Estate whereas "Can you recommend a company for new construction?" goes in home improvement).

Doesn't everyone just read Recent Topics anyway? Who cares what goes in which forum?

For the most part, you are correct for our obsessives. But, for those who don't come every day (or every few minutes), Recent Topics scrolls too quickly. Forum division is important for those users.

OP...I misunderstood I guess. I had thought you were splitting home improvement into its own, not combining it with interior decorating. To me construction and curtain rods don't really go together, but it's your playground and your rules.

Pp - I only browse real estate every couple of days. Maybe I am alone but I have little use for the other topics. On the bright side maybe with fewer posts to see I will waste less time!
