No. I am not a narcissist.

But then, I don't have a hot bod. Extremely high HHI, but that hardly ever seems relevant to a discussion. Comes into play on the money forum, but not so much on this one.

A narcissist would never easily recognize his own narcisism. And a narcissist would not post on an anonymous forum like DCUM, no public adoration or narcissistic supply in anonymity.

Actually, they say the opposite is true. A narcissist usually honestly answers the question.

A true clinical narcissist would NEVER think he/she is a narcissist. Never. It is one of the hallmarks of narcissism (which is why they are so difficult to treat).

Folks love to throw this word around now, but a true classical narcissist won't cop to being one. They don't think they are one.

Yeah that's actually not true. True narcissists DO know they are narcissists but they won't admit to it publicly. Or even say it out loud to themselves. But they do know.

Can you cite to your reference. I understand there have been some recent studies where narcissists recognize they have negative traitors that align with narcissicism, like conceit, but that doesn't equate to knowing that you are a narcissist. Meaning, their self love is waaay outside the norm.

No, I'm proud of accomplishing a technical terminal degree, establishing career, taking care of my family, and raising kids, under very adverse circumstances. It would have been easy to throw in the towel and curl up into a ball given all the crap we had to deal with as a family - widowed, second husband scumbaggery, life threatening illnesses, son deployed, teenage angst, death in the family, taking care of elderly parents, moving across the country, etc. I know I'm not the only one, but it has seemed like a tsunami for the last 20 years. I'm tired.

They won't admit it but there are signs like lacking emotion, inability to truely love someone else and only loves themselves, and most are guys. Only upside is they are typically very intelligent.
